Joe was a WWII veteran who served as a 3rd Officer on Merchant Marine Ships, served in the Army Transport Service during the war and had an honorable discharge from the US Coast Guard that he was very proud of and a real "Coastie" at heart.
Joe attended our 2015 Legions of Mars Ball as an honored WWII Veteran.
BELOW: Joe (on the far right) attending a Legion of Mars (military themed Krewe) Mardi Gras Ball a couple years ago. I tried to keep an eye on Joe to make sure he was doing all right and frequently I would find him on the dance floor, cane in one hand and a young lady in the other....We referred to him as a "Chick Magnet" he was such a gentleman. Fair winds and following seas "Uncle Joe" as I called him.....
Come share a story about his life with us all as we celebrate his life.
